The functioning of the AstroTrac is actually very simple. It consists of two arms, one of which is permanently mounted on a spindle and the second arm is moved against the firm. On
the upper part of the movable arm is now our GR-mount mini fixed. The lateral overweight where the telescop is mount can be adjusted with the counterweight and A2 counterweights (similar to a normal balanced
to our small and extremely stable wedge and the already proven
GR-mini mount for years from our house, we give the AstroTrac System a new face.
Now, how-to mount the tele-optic components.
The Tele-Optic ATC-Wedge can be fixed on a stable video / photo tripod with 3/8" screw. The M8 Knob in front of the wedge will adjust the height for the pole-alignement. With the lateral M4 thumbscrew you can move the system from the right to the left side to adjust the pole-position. After the correct alignment please fix all axles. Now the AstroTrac itself is mounted on the wedge. Subsequently, a conventional mini-GR can be mounted on the ATC-system. After all you have to mount the long counterweight bar at the GIRO-mini mount. The rest is easy .... now you have to tare the System with the counterwheight.... Done.
